The Lennox XP25 Heat Pump is Lennox’s flagship split heat pump. In many ways, it’s king of heat pumps, not only amongst Lennox units, but also against competitive brands. According to Lennox, this unit is “the most precise and efficient heat pump you can buy.” Its closest rival, Trane’s XV20i can’t even make that claim.

The Lennox XP16 is the manufacturer’s mid-tier Elite Series two-stage heat pump unit. With efficiency ratings up to 17 SEER and 9.5 HSPF, it is about 6% less efficient in cooling than its big brother the XP21, but almost equal efficiency in heating.
The Lennox SL18XP1 is the quietest and most efficient single-stage heat pump on the market today. Part of the Dave Lennox Signature Series this unit has efficiency ratings as high as 18.5 SEER and sound ratings as low as 65 decibels.
The Lennox XP14 sits squarely in the middle of the company’s three single-speed heat pump models. It is moderately quiet and can achieve efficiency ratings as high as 16-SEER when paired with an Elite Series air handler.
The most affordable of all consumer-grade Lennox heat pumps is the Lennox 14HPX. This model is capable of achieving efficiency ratings up to 16 SEER in cooling and 8.2HSPF in heating.
