When is the best time and temperature for an A/C or Heating Tune-Up?
We get this question often; should I wait to get a tune-up? There are only two numbers to keep in mind to know if the temperature is right to have your air conditioning and heating system maintenance performed, 65 and 75.
Ideally it is best to get an air conditioner maintenance check and tune-up when the temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit and above.
When it comes to your furnace or heat pump’s heating maintenance check-up, ideally the temperature should be 65 degrees Fahrenheit or below.
The best time to get a “deal” on the price of a maintenance visit is usually in what H.V.A.C. (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Contractor’s refer to as the “shoulder season” The shoulder seasons are typically between January and February and again between October and December.
All HVAC Contractors are pretty busy “in season” from March through September and many of the deals are no longer running during this time.
It’s usually a good idea to purchase a protection plan or maintenance agreement, which will get you further discounts and priority service from you’re A/C Company.
A good company will have multiple levels of plans that can be customized to suit your needs rather than a “one size fits all plan”…as one size does not fit all!
